Allnurses.com is not supporting nurses with addictions and facing disciplinary action.
I know this because I had an account with them and have used it through the years. Recently I told a couple of people on forum posts within their site that there is a group for nurses facing addiction and disciplinary action. I received 2 notifications within the first day that they do not allow promotion of other blogs and I had “violated their terms of service.” They claimed that someone had reported me, which I highly doubt.
They also suggested that I contact their sales people if I want to advertise on their site. I find this extremely sad because I was not trying to advertise another site, I am trying to help nurses who are struggling with addictions and have nowhere to turn. There is a group for nurses who are facing addictions on Nurseboards.com and it is both private and hidden. It makes me cringe to think that many of these nurses are starting threads there about very personal things and these comments are not private and are indexed by Google for everyone to see.
I find it quite awful that Allnurses.com does not support nurses and instead is worried about their almighty dollar instead of the welfare of nurses. I am not sure who owns the site since the original owner, Brian Short was, in fact, a serial killer who slaughtered his wife and 3 children in cold blood and later killed himself. Not a very good role model for nurses at all.
I know that I am not the first one to realize that Allnurses.com doesn’t care about nurses at all. Britany the Nerdy Nurse also wrote about her run-in with them when they banned her because she put a link to her site on their website. They really should be ashamed of themselves that they’re unwilling to help nurses in their time of need. I think everyone should boycott their site. It’s ridiculous and they are not nurse advocates.
Nurses don’t need sites that don’t support nurses. We need sites that are honest and willing to allow nurses the help they need when they need it regardless of money.
Anyway, if you are a nurse facing disciplinary action from the board of nursing in your state, or you are suffering from addiction and you don’t know where to turn then please join us here are Nurseboards.com
It’s a place for you to join our group and meet other nurses in a safe and private environment. Onlyanurse.com is also a great place for articles regarding nurses and the disciplinary process, we don’t care that Allnurses.com is not supporting nurses with addictions and facing disciplinary action because this group is growing every day without their help and we are very proud of that.
